About Renee

"If a Photograph has Soul,

the Viewer Responds Emotionally"

The soul of an image is that elusive moment when the ingredients of light, emotion and composition celebrate life .  . by making it stand still.

With three decades behind the camera, Renee is intuitively adept at capturing moments. Her engaging personality allows clients to relax while she creates story-telling images.

Renee received a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from Rider University, NJ where she was honored as Senior Journalist of the Year. After college, Renee became a staff newspaper photographer for publications in NJ/NY/PA. She covered assignments ranging from Presidential campaigns to professional sports to runway fashion.

A few years down the road she was awarded a full-scholarship to attend graduate school at Ohio University's prestigious E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. After completing the Visual Communications program, Renee purchased and become co-publisher of a weekly newspaper near Hilton Head Island. After 7 years, many great stories and a multitude of awards, she sold the publication, put her toes in the sand and turned the camera to sunset family beach portraits and destination weddings.

In 2007, Downtown Greenville tugged on her heartstrings and she relocated to the Upstate. She was a pioneer in using downtown's diverse and vibrant backdrop to create urban infused portraiture.  In 2008, she combined her story-telling skills with her love for canines and founded Urban Dog Photography, www.urbandogphoto.com. To every session, she brings decades of professional experience and an undying passion to capture and preserve YOUR story.
